I sighed softly as my best friend Lilith dragged me into the party.
"Do we really have to be here? We could go rent a movie and watch i at my place." I reasoned.
"No, it'll be fine. This party is more....our style. Besides, Emma, Kelly, and Bash are gonna be there." She stated dragging me inside before I could protest any further.
I grumbled sitting myself next to Bash as Lilith ran off to grab some drinks. Looking around I noticed that multiple eyes were directed towards my friends and self. I quizkly snapped my head down to stare at my hands. Bash looked towards me and nudged me with her elbow.
"What's got you down?" She asked calmly.
I paused for a second to give her a slight glare knowing she already knew 'what's got me down'.
"Honestly....why do you guys drag me to parties? You know I don't like them..." I asked slightly annoyed.
MercyOh sweet God how the grassland
ignites in moonlight tonight
I must thank you for creating
her tangled fingers' slow pace
through the handsome rain Her
trochaic kinesthesia to rhythms
in Stravinsky's The Rite of
Spring Is this how you meant
for us to love you Yahweh
Tumbling clumsily down hills
of sheets into perpetually
immutable silence I could love
you like that I think I've been
practicing on this Savanna
for days and months Lost in
her crystal canvas Rolling crests
and troughs And when she touches
me Oh fair Lord I'm dragged into
your city past Gethsemane's
pulsing green and gold
Please hold us together
under this luminous stretch
Oh Father We are live
unclothed Our reflections awash
with the skin of your sun
